Need a quick boost to your immunity?
It’s getting colder and darker now, so you want to make sure you keep your immunity boosted to keep yourself in tip top condition.
Here’s two sure fire ways to stay in good health:
1. Fine-tune your diet
Almost all fruit and veg is good, but if you’re going to pick and choose, opt for the ones rich in vitamins A, C, and E.
Vitamin A (which you get from sweet potatoes, carrots, and dark leafy greens) helps white blood cells fight off infections more effectively. It also helps regulate the immune system.
Citrus fruits (like lemons, oranges, and grapefruit), as well as peppers, papayas, and broccoli, contain vitamin C, which improves the absorption of iron from plant-based foods and helps the immune system protect against disease.
And vitamin E, found in nuts and seeds, has been shown in scientific studies to combat flu and upper respiratory infections.
2. Wash your hands!
Yup, handwashing is probably the most obvious public health measure – right up there with immunisation – for stopping the spread of infection. After all, you only need to make contact with a cold or flu virus and then touch your eyes, nose or mouth to get infected.
And if you do succumb to the bugs and feel full of cold, then give these fab shower disks a try…
