Our Food – What’s the Story?
Books, food and wine – the perfect combo and it’s all happening at the Kerrygold Ballymaloe Literary Festival of Food and Wine from 20th-22nd May.
A new programme focussing on the future of food will take place at this year’s Litfest, now in it’s fourth year.
Designed to spark imagination and generate discussion, the crucial conversation will be led by some of the most thought-provoking writers and thinkers about food and is a must visit for all food-lovers.
Based in The Grainstore, the Our Food – What’s the Story symposium will deliver the most up-to-the-minute news on what’s happening in the world of food and drinks. The sessions will be punctuated by inspiring short films, interesting readings and live music.
A must for foodies, the symposium includes University College Cork’s Professor Ted Dinan discussing the relationship between our gut and our psychological well-being in A Gut Feeling while the Bia Food Initiative will be suggesting how to tackle food waste. Food journalist Ella McSweeney will lead a panel discussion on the importance of our soil and Ari Weinzweig, CEO and co-founder of Zingerman’s Deli in Michigan, will tell all on how to create a successful food business and a happy workforce.
